November has arrived and autumn has fallen upon Tokyo. I hope everyone is doing well...
I wanted to thank all those who were able to make it out to my exhibition. It was with your support and the effort of all those who helped that the exhibition enjoyed a successful run.
I was honored to have received thoughts and opinions from many viewers on the exhibition. Every word left a deep impression. Not only did I meet a great number of people for the first time, but I was overjoyed to have been reunited with friends and teachers whom I had not seen in 40 years and with people who attended a previous exhibition of mine seventeen years ago. With your support, I intend to push forward and create more works.
Forty years have past since I left Japan as a youth to journey and make a mark in the yet-unfamiliar world. That I had the opportunity to hold an exhibition in Japan has been a high point in my life that I could never forget.
Japan has been very warm to me. Many people, from dear friends to those I had only just met, encouraged me to return to Japan or, to at least, extend my activities to Japan. I received this encouragement with sincerity, and from now on, I plan to communicate my work to the world not only from New York, but from Japan as well. I will be updating www.hashi-ten.com with any current works or news.
